Diesel Fleet Service Dispatcher

Responsibilities

· Receive and prioritize service requests from customers via phone, email, or online systems. 

· Dispatch pickup and delivery drivers for work to be performed in the shop.

· Work with Service team to effectively schedule and manage the service workflow of customer vehicles.

· Maintain accurate records of service requests, dispatch activities, and customer communications using computerized systems or software.

· Monitor technician progress and workload to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of service jobs.

· Coordination of services required between shop personnel and customer.

· Provide updates to customers regarding repair estimates, work order status, pick-up times, etc.

· Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining service records as needed.

· Manage and update job assignments.

· Other service-related duties as needed.

Requirements

·  High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or dispatching is a plus.

·  Prior experience in dispatching or scheduling in a fleet management, automotive, truck shop or related industry preferred.

·  Proficiency with basic desktop computer operation

·  Knowledge of automotive terminology and services offered.

·  Strong attention to detail.

·  Ability to communicate effectively.

·  Ability to work independently and in a team.

·  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities when needed.

·  Valid Driver’s License

 Physical Demands and Working Conditions

· Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds.

· Working within a service garage setting. Dexterity, skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers and hands for repetitive operation of computer equipment. Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations. Heavy phone usage, talking with customers. Exposure to noise, dust, cleaning solvents, and exhaust fumes.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-4:00pm, weekends as needed

Hourly rate: $24-$27
