Responsibilities:
- Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend, and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
- Contribute to the development of new or enhanced accounting systems, programs, and procedures as part of building a stand-alone functioning accounting department
- Coordinating accounting functions and programs
- Preparing financial analyses and reports
- Performing various analyses and preparing account reconciliations
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures & cash flows
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and income statement general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with annual audit preparation and investigating/resolving audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
- Payroll processing compliance and best practices
- Assist in preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting other staff as required or assigned by the Corporate Controller or CFO
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- General ledger accounting
- Strength in regulatory reporting
- Working knowledge of GAAP and tax laws
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and stress management skills
- Expert in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Paylocity Payroll
- Ability to train and manage staff
- Ability to work with little to no supervision

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Experience:
• 7+ yearsof experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• 3+ years in a positionequivalent to a Senior Accountant or higher level
• CPA or CMA a plus
• Experience in the Transportation and Logistics industrya plus
• Experience with McLeod a plus
